RESPONSIBILITIES



Tango Live is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our engineering department and help us build our great product.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership to all engineering and development areas.
  • Develop and execute an engineering strategy for the company.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new product features.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers.
  • Working closely with Team Leads as their mentor in the direction of their professional development
  • Manage teamwork by planning and prioritizing engineering backlog, clarifying tasks, monitoring progress, and eliminating blockers to establish effective coordination and delivery efforts.
  • Partner with other engineering and development teams.
  • Design development strategies based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
  • Own the delivery commitment of the team and together with the team make sure to deliver what has been promised and up to the quality standards.
  • Be responsible for delivery, agile delivery
  • Provide a consistent/successful interface between Engineering Development and Product Management.
  • Embrace the technological leadership in a team, plan and agree on engineering activities and tasks/project priorities in alignment with the Product Manager.
  • Standardize the development process where needed, allow local differences where advantageous.
  • Conduct regular people management processes for team members aligned with company practices and policies and with the HR team support.

REQUIREMENTS



  • 7+ years of experience in leading multi-disciplinary Agile development teams, preferably in a product;
  • Background in Engineering/Team Lead role;
  • Solid prior career experience as a software engineer;
  • Strong understanding and experience with Agile software development practices like Scrum, Kanban;
  • Technical practices like continuous integration, automated testing, release management, performance monitoring, and applicable tooling such as Atlassian, Git, etc. are part of your standard day-to-day thinking;
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient level of English.
